Air purifier plants are the new trend. We all have seen how women and men are going all gaga about adding new plants in their life. Air purifiers not just adds a character to your home decor but it does that with detoxifying the air quality you breathe. Which means a decorative piece that work a little harder to give us a clean and healthy air to breathe.
Just happened to read it somewhere and it stayed with me for a long time now. NASA’s Clean Air Study found that there are a number of air purifier plants that can detoxify your home from the dangerous toxins, dusts and germs that can be easily found in your furniture, couture and different fabric materials.
So today I am going to list down beautiful air purifier plants that you can plan to get for your home which is extremely beautiful and also say to maintain.
Air Purifier Plants 1: Chinese Evergreen

Chinese evergreen is a very attractive looking, a low maintainer plant. They can grow well in the shade and is mostly considered ideal for the office.
The visual of the plant is mostly considered to be the mind freshener for psychologist’ too. This plant will happily survive in the major temperatures as well but the ideal is 65-80 degree Fahrenheit. You can find these air purifier plants at various hotels, restaurants, tech buildings, hospitals placed at the entrance or receptions area mostly.
The plant is however considered poisonous for dogs and cats and if you are a pet friendly person, make sure you keep this plant away from you pets reach.

The plant needs bright indirect light when grown indoor.
Dragon tree grows really well and with a little care this plant will stay with your family till ages. The plant doesn’t need a lot of fertilizer but it does need a larger pot. Since the trees grows so slowly, they generally require re potting only every second or third year. Dragon tree prefers a temperature between 70-80 degree F.
Care: Dragon tree though grows slowly but it has very healthy growth. It doesn’t need much of your everyday’s attention except for watering them ones a week, though it is always advisable to not over-water this plant and ensure that you don’t drown it, until the top half of the soil is dry before watering. In low light, the soil can dry up to 3 weeks.
Plant 3: Broad Lady Palm

A plant which is very hardy in nature, can adapts the diverse climate conditions , and can be used to decorate homes, buildings, or offices. The appearance of this plant is in itself so beautiful and attractive that it catches eye attention, the moment someones walks into the room.
Lady palm branches is also used for making walking sticks and umbrella stands. The plant grows to a height of about 6-12 feels with a slow growth rate.
The plants needs shade for most of the years. Have high tolerance for drought and moderate humidity.
A perfect plant from the list of air purifier plants because it absorbs formaldehyde and ammonia which is considered to be the major toxins in the indoor environment. The emission of formaldehyde is from carpets, fiberglass, cooking, paints and from cigarette.
While ammonia can be found in the environment by excreta of human and animals, pharmaceutical products, rubbers and other fungal growth.
Care: A very little care is required. The plant needs partial deep shade for its growth and survival. Pour water only when the topsoil of the pot turns dry. Do not water daily as it may damage the roots.
Plant 4: Aloe Vera
A multi functional plant that can add character to your mini garden. Aloe Vera as we know has lots of medicinal benefits. But it is yet again an excellent air purifier plants. It absorbs, formaldehyde and benzene found in floor detergents, finishes and furniture varnishes.

The plant is very easy to maintain, a small cup of water daily can be enough. The only care you can do to aloe vera is by keeping it in a larger pot. Also don’t forget to place it in a sunny location in your garden. You have this plant in your house at multiple places as this will grow at its own pace but have a lot of benefits. I usually like a couple of them because I use its extended leaves for my hair and face regime.
Care: A sunny spot for this little plant and a large pot because this plant grows really well with larger space.
Plant 5: Holy Basil (Tulsi)

I was as naive as some of you might be right now reading this name as a air purifier. But it’s true. Apart from various health benefits of Tulsi, it is considered to be an excellent one in the list of air purifier plants.
It gives out oxygen for four hours a day also with the formation of nascent oxygen which absorbs harmful gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulphur to the nature.
This plant can be also a best form of mosquito replant with other health benefits like 2 leaves of tulsi in your tea can always protect you from sore through, cold and cough.
Care: A cup of water daily and see it in a spot where the plant gets 2-3 hours of good sun rays. Re potting can be done ones in a year or twice if the health of the plant is growing good.
Plant 6: Asparagus or Shatavari

May be you all know that this plant can help in curing ulcers and dyspepsia. These medicated plant can be perfect blend for your home garden. Keeping these air purifier plants in your home can be benefited because it is easily available. It can be conveniently added in your daily chores.
Care: A cup of water till the top soil turns dry. Can survive in a shady region but ones a week a good amount of sun rays can help it grow.
Plant 7: Gerbera Daisy

These bright and attractive air purifier plants are a must for your home if you crave to see some bright flowers in your garden.
Daisy is considered to be the most long living plant in your garden along with its flower that can be seen in your table top.
The plant is also famous for filtering out benzene. It is advisable to be kept in your laundry room or your bedroom because it is very helpful in removing the impurities.
Care: Just a little amount of water in every three days. Keep a medium size of pot because the water clog inside the pot can be root rotting reasons.
