A complete beauty regimen with Home-made products

There are so many beauty products available in market for your face, hair, nails and everything. Name the problem and solution is already there in the market. But sometimes we are not comfortable in putting those products on our body. We have a perfect solution for this problem, yes, you read it right, we have a complete beauty regimen full of home-made products.

 

Face:

We all do so many things for our face, we visit parlor twice a month to enhance our beauty and to maintain ourselves. Get a facial done once a month or once in two months to keep our natural glow. This not only burns a hole in our pocket but also sometimes come with side-effects which nobody told us about. To end this, we are here with 5 main steps and home-made products that can be used for healthy glowing skin.

  1. Milk cleanser: Nothing can be gentler on your skin than milk and it is the best thing to clean your face with. It contains lactic acid which helps in removing dead skin cells and the proteins and fat in it moisturize and plump the skin. It would be good to use full cream milk rather than toned.
    1. Pour a small amount of milk in your palm and massage over your face.
    2. Wash your face with cold water and pat it dry. Do rub your face with towel/tissue. Pat it!

  1. Scrub: Exfoliating is the most important step and you should consider doing it more often. But do it gently, you don’t want to hurt your skin cells. We have these 2 home-made products in mind which you can opt for.
    • Honey sugar: honey is a natural exfoliator. It removes dull, dry skin and speeds up your skin cells’ healing processes. Sugar will add extra granularity to the mix for better effects. Mix following things in bowl and gntly massage your face with this mix.
      1. 1 tbsp olive oil
      2. 1 tbsp organic honey
      3. juice from 1/2 lemon
      4. /2 cup granulated sugar

    • Oatmeal: if your skin is sensitive to scrubs in the market. You should use this one. Oatmeal is rich in antioxidants and helps in recovering from all the damages done to skin by pollution, chemicals and UV rays. Made a mix of following things and massage on your face with gentle hands:
      1. 1/2 cup of uncooked oats
      2. 2 tbsp honey
      3. 1 tsp coconut oil
      4. 2 tbsp of milk

  1. Steam: After exfoliating, steam can help your skin to get soften again. Your pores will open a bit more and serums and goodness of next steps can be absorbed better. All the impurities will be extracted from your skin by this step. Here is the procedure for the same:
    1. Boil a bowl full of water.
    2. Bring your face above that bowl and maintain a safe distance not to get hurt.
    3. Cover your head with a towel to avoid letting out the steam.

  1. Gram flour/besan mask:  Applying mask is the most important step to close the open pores and we have the best home-made mask for you. You must have heard about this from your grandmother or mother. Gram flour has Zinc which helps in fighting the infections that cause acne. It controls production of excess sebum and soothes inflamed skin. Best part of home-made products like this mask is no side-effects on your face and therefore no harm to your beauty. Follow the following steps to use it:
    1. Put 2 tbsp of gram flour in a bowl.
    2. Add ½ tsp of turmeric in the bowl and 1 tbsp of curd.
    3. Add 2 tbsp of milk and mix it well. Use milk as per consistency of the mix. It should be paste like.
    4. Apply this to your face and let it sit for 10 minutes.
    5. Massage your face with water to soften the mask on your face and then wash it off. Pat your face dry with a towel or tissue.

  1. Mint Toner: Mint leaves contain salicylic acid, which treats and prevents acne. The antioxidants in it, rejuvenates the skin and reduces sun damage, eye wrinkles and skin redness. This toner is one of the most used home-made products which you can use daily before going to sleep. Make this beauty toner at home by following these simple steps:
    1. Add a couple of mint leaves to 6 cups of boiling water.
    2. Allow the solution to cool.
    3. Wipe your face with cotton dipped in this solution.

Hair:

How can we leave one of the most important part of our personality, our hair. We all love lustrous and healthy hair. While we all make sure to use regular shampoos and conditioners to keep them healthy and clean, we often forget that just like our skin/face, they also need extra care and pampering. Yes! Hair masks can do that for you and what better than a fresh home-made products straight out of your own kitchen. Being chemical free, they will not give you any side-affects. Following is the mask which I personally use and swear by it.

Bananas are the best for hair conditioning. Who doesn’t like smooth frizz-free hair? But in today’s environment full of dust and pollutants, it is next to impossible. Well banana will do just that for you as it is full of natural oils, carbohydrates, vitamins and potassium.

Yogurt has lactic acid and it helps in treating dull and damaged hair.

  1. Banana yogurt mask: Together these 2 ingredients can make your hair shiner, smoother and silkier. What else do we need? Follow these simple steps to make your mask:
    1. Cut 1 ripe banana into small pieces and put in a blender.
    2. Add 2 tbsp of curd and 2 tbsp honey to banana.
    3. Blend the mix to get a smooth paste like consistency.
    4. Strain the mix and add 1 tbsp coconut oil (oil is optional).
    5. Apply it from top to bottom on your hair.
    6. Cover your head with shower cap and leave it for at least 30 min.
    7. wash it off with your regular shampoo.

Heels:

Most of us suffer with cracked heels, no matter what our age is. Therefore we all need inexpensive home-made products for this problem to maintain beauty of our feet.We have these 2 sure shot remedies which can completely heal your heels.

  1. Banana: They are full of Vitamin A, B6 and C and is a natural skin moisturizer. It also hydrates your skin while maintaining its elasticity. For best results, follow this procedure every night for minimum 2 weeks.
    1. Make a paste of 2 ripe bananas, unripe ones have acids which can be harsh on skin so make sure to use ripe bananas only.
    2. Gently rub this on your heels, skin around toenails and leave it for good 20 minutes.
    3. Wash it off with clean water and pat it dry.
  1. Honey: It is a natural humectant, which brings water from lower tissues to upper layer and help the outer skin to plump. Due to this outer dead skin can be easily removed and is more hydrated than before. Below is the procedure to use it.
    1. Add 1 cup honey to half bucket of water.
    2. Dip your feet in water for around 15 minutes.
    3. Gently rub your feet with pumice stone.
    4. Pat your feet dry with a tissue/towel and apply moisturizer.
