Shilpa Shetty Workout Routine, Yoga Tips & Diet Plan for Sexy Figure

A Yoga enthusiast, a doting mother, Big Brother 5 winner and Bollywood fitness queen, Shilpa Shetty Kundra in her 40’s looks stunning and younger than ever. Her radiant flawless skin, lustrous hair and slim waistline have not only wooed her fans but made them inquisitive about her healthy diet and workout routine.

Born on 8th June, 1975 in Mangalore district of Karnataka, the actress was on the verge of her carrier’s end when she suddenly became an apple of everyone’s eye in 2004 when she won Big Brother 5. And ever since she has never looked back and has been a leading example of stunning body and toned figure in major Bollywood hits: Dus, Phir Milenge, Khamoshi, Life in a Metro, Apne and Dostana to name a few. But according to her, she has not always been perfectly fit but fitness has come to her gradually through constant efforts she made at what routine, exercises and food works in her favor.

In 2008, after the launch of her Yoga DVD, Shilpa came to be widely associated with how yoga is the best solution to all fitness related problems. She became a regular Yoga practitioner after trying it once at recommendation of her physiotherapist. She realised that simple breathing techniques in Yoga works wonder for one’s body and mind. It not only relieves stress but also brings vital energy and freshness to the body. After learning general Yoga techniques for year, Shilpa began to practise Ashtanga Yoga religiously.

Shilpa takes great pride in revealing that she enjoys eating desi food and consuming ghee in her meals. Crediting her grandmother for all the love she has for Indian food and sharing her passion for cooking, the beautiful actress considers dal chawal, a sabzi (vegetable) and a fish integral part of her everyday lunch. She strongly believes in the health and medicinal benefits of Indian spices and recommends homemade Indian meals to anybody who is seeking out for a perfectly toned body like her.

To bust myths about food and dietary habits, the health advocate actress recently went on to inspire her fans to stay fit with the launch of her first book The Great Indian Diet, which she dedicates to her grandmother for the incredible flavor and mix of healthy ingredients that she brings to her cooked food.
Shilpa advises drinking lots of water (10 glasses in a day) to keep body sufficiently hydrated and consuming wholesome foods. She keeps her away from eating snacks in between the meals and drinks green tea regularly. She avoids drinking aerated drinks. Her balanced diet comprises of high-protein and low-carb food items that provides her with 1800 calories each day.
Shilpa Shetty Diet Plan Includes:
Breakfast: Aloe vera extract in form of juice and Amla. Tea with added brown sugar
Lunch: Vegetables, Brown rice, Chicken curry or Fish
Evening: Green tea, Eggs and Brown Bread
Dinner: Vegetable Soup, Chicken, Salads
Apart from her fixed diet plan she consumes protein shake and raisins after her workout. She also advises to eat some processed foods like raw nut butter, mustard and almond milk. She suggests having dinner by 8 pm in the night gives body enough time to digest food before sleeping which is desirable.

During her pregnancy Shilpa had put an extra 32 kg of weight as she was fed dollops of ghee, aloo paranthas and jaggery by her husband Raj Kundra’s Punjabi Family. But after becoming mother, she went on to practice a workout routine that brought her back to her flawless and perfectly toned body.
Initially, Shilpa performed 20 minutes of light workouts three times in a week. She also cycled for hours to reap benefits. In next 10 months, she raised the intensity of her workouts and finally became successful in shedding whooping 20 kilograms of weight. She also gradually added different techniques like functional, animal flow workout and conditioning workout, which she never tried in the past.

Shilpa Shetty Workout Routine Includes:
For two days of week, she performs Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation (Dhyan)
Next two days, she performs strength training exercises and heavy weight exercises which brings better shape to her muscles.
Another next two days, she keeps exclusively for cardiovascular exercises.

Shilpa says that warming up before taking up rigorous exercises in essential. It helps in increasing heart rate which improves blood circulation and loosens the joints. Warming-up exercises generally include stretching of muscles which prepares the body for intense exercises and prevents injuries. It also brings mental readiness to one’s body to take up training exercises with enthusiasm and rigor.

As a young mother who had her own fears and anxieties about losing weight after pregnancy, Shilpa inspires many women by following a simple diet plan and workout routine that maintains her body and beauty. She often thinks about leading a lifestyle that was lived 80 years ago- a simple life with balanced proportions. Through her book, she aims to be a catalyst in bringing a positive change in lifestyle of people.
